Halloween

Okay, this Halloween thing isn't so bad. I've been told for weeks about the scary ghost and witches that will be coming to the house. And, I will have to admit at first I thought that they were real, but they I noticed that they were not REAL witches and ghost, but just little boy's and girls dress up as witches and ghosts.
This was a huge load off my shoulders! Let me tell you. I was a little freaked out by a huge turtle that ended up being my friend Charlie from next door. He took off his hat and I was surprised that it was him. I thought he was a real turtle... Have you ever meet a snappy turtle, they are mean. Now picture one that almost 3 feet tall! Yeah, you understand why I was freaked out now don't you!
Do you like my costume? I'm a Little Monkey! Daddy calls me his little monkey.

Thanks Auntie Amy for the great (and warm) costume!

University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum

Have you ever tried to say the word 'arboretum' when you are only nine months old? Seriously, who came up with this word? I tried a number of times to say it, but it's just too much. I get to "arbor" and I'm done.

While I was there, I found out that "Arboretum" is just a fancy way to say "Park" So if you are okay with this, I'm going to use the word Park.

I went with M&D to the Park, the big fancy park. It took all day to see this park.It was HUGE!

I'm telling you, I can't wait to get back there again. I really liked going to the fancy park

I think I'll start doing Triathlons

I just realized the other day, I'm doing crawling events, I'm in a swim class, and I now have my own pusher. I'm totally ready for an Ironman race. Well maybe a Ironbaby race to start with.

But until I can find a race to register in, I'm going to continue to crawl, take my swim lessons, and ride around the house with Mommy and Daddy.

My First Race

I would like to start by saying thank you to everyone that helped me train for this event. My personal trainer, my masseuse, my nutritionist, and of course my personal assist for getting to and from the event. I would also like to thank my sponsors, if it was not for their support of my goals, none of this could have been achieved.

The Twin Cities Marathon holds a number of other events throughout the weekend, so I decided early this year that I would work and train hard so that I could be in the Diaper Dash. It is a pretty straight forward race. All of the competitors are put into an inner circle. We have to sit there until the start the race, once started, you have to roll over and then crawl the 10 meter to the outer circle to win.

This type of a challenge would require a lot of training, time and effort. But I felt like I would ready for it. With a lot of work done around the house, in the backyard and at the park I was confident that I would do well.
Race game came and I was excited. Perhaps a bit too excited. I broke away from my regular routine and found myself in the moment before the race with out my morning nap. I knew right away that this could be the difference between a win and just finishing.

The race was a long and grueling effort. The start seemed to take forever to get everyone settled into our starting positions. Then once the gun was fired and we were on our way, I found myself sitting far to close to the other competitors around me. I was locked in, stuck. I couldn't get myself enough room to be able to roll over.
Then it happened. Like all long endurance races, I hit the wall. I became completely and totally exhausted. I didn't know what to do! All of that training, the long hours, the dirty diapers, all of it. Wasted. I was to the point of cries. It just was so painful that I cried with each crawl, the effort was just to great. I gave everything but the course was just too much for me. I completely broke down...

As soon as I finished, my loving family was there waiting for me, with my recovery drink and lots of encouragement. It took a bit but I came around and started to feel better. Soon after I was given my medal, it was placed around my neck and I felt all of the pressure and pain just wash away.
After the race I spent some time crawling around and catching up with some of the other competitors to see if their events what as hard as mine. And it seems like the general consensus was that this was one difficult race.

I had a great time, and I know that I will be back to race this again some day soon. Only 364 days until next years race!

Fall Trip to the Cabin

This past weekend I got to go to my family's cabin for the very first time with my Mommy and Daddy. The cabin is on the Yellow Rive between Danbury and Webster Wisconsin. I liked it there. I got to see deer, wild turkeys, a raccoon, and all kinds of really neat trees. I like to watch tree leaves blow around in the wind. That is one of my favorites.
We went for long walks in the forest and talked about all of the nature around us.
I got to try on my life jacket so I could go out on one of the boats.
Of course the bear skin rug is one of my favorites.
With so many trips this summer with M&D I've learnt that sometimes I need to help them so that we can get going. So I'm now helping by climbing into the car seat when ever I can.
I'm already looking forward to having our next adventure at the cabin!

Blogging More

I've been getting emailed a lot lately, asking me to spend some more time blogging and getting more picture and videos up on this website.

Just so you know, growing up takes a lot of time. I have to eat, and sleep and play and poop and make silly noises. I'm more or less booked solid until my teen years.... Seriously.

But until then, I'll keep working away and get more content written.
