Snow Storm means early Christmas PRESENTS!!

I don't know about you, but this snow storm thing ain't all bad. I got to spend not one, not two, but three whole days with Mommy, and two with Daddy! Seriously, I think we need more of these storms.

Oh, and here is the bonus part. I got to open a Christmas present early! This snow stuff rocks!

I met Santa Claus

Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting Santa Claus. I'm not sure if you have heard of him or not, but I'm being told that he is a pretty big deal in some parts. I've never seen him on Entertainment Tonight, or in any of the newspaper tabloids so I have to assume that he is only a B list celebrity. So I'm basically thinking to myself that he is no Brad Pitt...

Anyhow, I took my parents and sister Stefanie to Bachman's Nursery to do some Christmas shopping the other day. While we were there an "Elf" named Albert comes walking out of this little house that was built right in the middle of their store and started to tell stories and do some magic tricks. One trick was pretty cool and I'm still working out how he did it. I think it could be magic, but I'm not sure at this point. Anyhow, Alfred seems pretty cool but I'm having a hard time accepting that he is an Elf, he is almost as tall as my Daddy. Aren't Elf short and have weird ears or something? Or am I missing something here.

So Albert the Elf is singing songs and doing magic when this Santa Claus guy comes walking into their little house. He seemed pretty cool from the beginning, I've never seen this guy before so I'm not real sure what to think of his right away. But he was sporting some bright yellow Converse Chuck Taylor's. And the one thing that I've learned so far in life is, if someone is wearing Chucks, they ain't all bad. Just ask my sister.

While Santa and Albert are telling stories I notice that all of the other kids there are starting to really freak out over this Santa guy. I'm starting to wonder to myself why? When all of a sudden Albert the Elf and Santa stop their stories and songs and say, "Okay kids, you can all line up to tell Santa what you want for Christmas!!!"

WHAT!!! This Santa guy is like a Grandma or Grandpa and is going to give me a present! Why didn't anyone tell me this earlier!?! I mean, okay I knew that he could tell if I've been naughty or nice. Mom and Dad can already do that, so that is no biggie. But I didn't realize that I was potentially messing up a present! Seriously people, can someone please tell me the whole story instead of just this "be good 'cause Santa is watching" stuff.

So we get in line and I'm watching all of this other boys and girls asking Santa not A gift, but giftS!!! As in MULTIPLES gifts. Now I'm really worked up. I've been blowing it for weeks thinking that this Santa guy was like an Uncle I haven't met yet and is just going to swing by the house, hang out for a bit, have a beer with Daddy, and then be on his way.

I'm now nervous and a bit freaked out to be meeting a real A list celebrity. I get to the front of the line, Santa gives me a big "I know what you've been up too little girl" smile and I know in the instance that I'm going to get ripped off this Christmas. Next thing you know I'm crying, I'm completely freaked out by the fact that I've blown my chance to get any toy I wanted this Christmas. All because I didn't spend some time on Wikipedia and learn about this guy first....

So it took me a while to calm down. I mean, what if someone can to you and said "you know that guy sitting next to you on bus ride to work this morning? He would have given you a Ferrari if you had just said hello to them." Yeah, I was that kind of freaked out too! Anyhow, I got it together when Mommy said that we could go to  Patrick's Cafe inside of Bachman's. Can I recommend their chocolate chip cookies or their pumpkin muffins. Both are excellent with a bottle of milk.
